The spiritual and educational program "Hope in Action" — one of the evangelical projects of the "Hope" media group — took place in the city of Tyachiv in Transcarpathia from January 24 to 31. During the week, residents of the city had the opportunity to explore biblical topics together, communicate, and find answers to important spiritual questions.
The results of this meeting were particularly inspiring: eight people decided to continue studying the Bible, and three expressed a desire to be baptized in water in the future.
Every evening, people came to the program, eager to learn more about God and Bible prophecy. Each meeting was attended by about 15 guests who were not previously part of the Adventist community. In total, up to 45 adults and about 10 children attended the events, including six internally displaced persons.
The spiritual part of the program was conducted by Master of Theology and preacher Mykola Ryabenko. In an accessible and understandable form, he revealed important biblical topics: global biblical prophecies, the Second Coming of Christ, the meaning of the day of rest and worship, God's church, the issues of death and resurrection, baptism, and God's judgment. Thanks to online broadcasts on Facebook, those who were unable to attend in person could also listen to these topics.
Friday evening was particularly moving. During the reflection on the covenant with the Lord through water baptism, a call to repentance and dedication of life to God was made. Three people responded to this call by coming forward, expressing their desire to be baptized in the future.
On Saturday, the last day of the program, several more students agreed to begin Bible studies. A special prayer was said for each of them.
Each meeting was held in a warm atmosphere of communication. Every evening there was live music and vocal singing, which created a special mood and helped to tune the hearts to spiritual reflections. In addition to the spiritual part, the program also included practical health care and support for people.
Food support was prepared for people in need. In total, over 300 kilograms of food were distributed during the program.
A special support for women was the free massage sessions conducted by Lydia, a specialist with 15 years of experience. She devoted about eight hours to this service every day, and in total, more than ten women received her help.
This event became an example of unity and teamwork of many people who joined the ministry, as well as a testimony of God's action in the hearts of people. Today, the fruits of this program continue to grow: the local pastor of the Adventist community of Tyachiv, Taras Melnyk, conducts Bible lessons with eight people who have expressed a desire to explore the Holy Scriptures more deeply and take new steps in their spiritual lives.
